Will Smith released Based on a True Story in March 2025, his first full-length album in about 20 years. In 2026, he began work on Amazon MGM’s action thriller Supermax, playing an FBI agent investigating a prison murder. These projects show a career rebuilding through music, streaming productions and established action appeal rather than returning immediately to its former shape.
